Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and MacXTools. They cover how you may use our apps and website, what you pay, how refunds work and the limits of our responsibility. Please read them before you download or buy an app.
01 Agreement to these terms
By downloading, installing or using any MacXTools app, or by using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use our apps or website.
If you use MacXTools on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms for that organization, and "you" in this document means the organization.
You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your country to buy an app or accept these terms.
02 Who we are
MacXTools makes native macOS utilities. In these terms, "MacXTools," "we," "us," and "our" mean the MacXTools entity that provides the app or service to you. "Apps" means the software we distribute under the MacXTools name. "Website" means macxtools.com and its subdomains.
You can reach us at support@macxtools.com or through our contact page.
03 Your licence to use the apps
Our apps are licensed to you, not sold. When you download a free app or complete a purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use that app for its intended purpose.
What the licence allows
- Install and use the app on Macs that you own or control.
- Use the app for personal or internal business purposes.
- Where an app is licensed per seat, use it for the number of users covered by your purchase.
A licence key, where one is issued, identifies your purchase. Keep it private. You are responsible for activity that happens under your key.
04 Acceptable use
Under this licence, you may not do any of the following.
- Copy, resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute an app, except as these terms allow.
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble an app, except where the law expressly permits it.
- Remove or alter any copyright, trademark or licence notice in an app.
- Share, sell or publish a licence key, or use a key you did not obtain from us.
- Use an app to break the law or to infringe someone else's rights.
If you break these rules, your licence ends automatically.
05 Purchases and payment
Prices are shown on the website and at checkout. Unless stated otherwise, a paid app is a one-time purchase for the current major version, not a subscription.
Payments are handled by our payment providers. You agree to give accurate billing details and confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method. Taxes may be added based on your location.
Your purchase is complete when payment is confirmed and your licence key or download is issued. We may change prices at any time, but a change never affects a purchase you have already made.
06 Free versions and trials
Some apps have a free version or a free tier that you can use for as long as you like, within any limits described on the app's page. A free version is provided as-is and may offer fewer features than the paid version.
Where an app offers a trial, the trial is meant to help you decide before you buy. We may change the terms of a free version or trial for future downloads.
07 Refunds
Every paid app comes with a 30-day refund. If an app is not right for you, email support@macxtools.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund it.
Full details are in our refund policy, which forms part of these terms. Refunds are returned to your original payment method.
08 Updates and support
We release updates to fix issues, improve apps and keep them working with new versions of macOS. Updates within the major version you bought are free.
An app may check for updates over the internet. You can turn that check off in the app's settings. A future major version may be a separate paid upgrade, and we will say so clearly before you buy it.
Support is provided by email and, during business hours, by live chat. We aim to reply to most messages within one business day.
09 Intellectual property
MacXTools and our licensors own the apps, the website and everything in them, including code, designs, logos and text. These terms do not transfer any ownership to you. They grant only the licence described above.
The MacXTools name and logo are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission, except to refer to our apps fairly and accurately.
10 Third-party and open-source software
Some apps include third-party or open-source components. Those components are covered by their own licences, which apply alongside these terms. Where a component's licence conflicts with these terms, that component's licence governs for that component only.
Our apps run on macOS. macOS is a product of Apple Inc. MacXTools is an independent developer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc.
11 Privacy
Our apps do their work on your Mac. Files you process stay on your machine, and our apps do not send telemetry about what you do. Our privacy policy explains what limited information the website and payment process handle, and it forms part of these terms.
12 Disclaimer of warranties
We work hard to make our apps reliable, and we test every release on real hardware. Even so, the apps and website are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not promise that an app will be error-free, that it will meet every need or that it will run without interruption. You are responsible for keeping backups of your data before you use any tool that changes or deletes files.
13 Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MacXTools is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of an app or the website.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
14 Indemnification
You agree to cover reasonable losses and legal costs we incur if a third party makes a claim against us because you used an app in a way these terms do not allow, or because you broke the law or infringed someone's rights.
15 Termination
Your licence ends automatically if you break these terms. You may stop using an app and delete it at any time. If your licence ends, you must stop using the app and remove it from your devices.
Sections that by their nature should survive, including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability and governing law, continue to apply after your licence ends.
16 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as our apps and the law change. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted where practical.
Using an app or the website after a change means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree with a change, stop using our apps and website.
17 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. The courts located in Texas have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute, unless mandatory law in your country of residence requires otherwise.
Nothing in these terms takes away consumer-protection rights that the law of your home country gives you and that cannot be waived by agreement.

These terms work together with our privacy policy, refund policy, and licence agreement. If a specific app ships with its own licence, that licence applies to that app alongside these terms.
